THE FINAL TWIST

The NLFF Heist Bunny – revealed as disgruntled filmmaker Ted Hex - has invited the people of Newcastle to take part in a treasure hunt to find the copy of Kick-Ass he stole from the festival offices in late February.

The treasure hunt will take place on the closing night of the Northern Lights Film Festival on Saturday 27th of March and see teams of people scouring the city centre for the stolen film.

There are prizes for the first team to retrieve a canister of film and anyone who takes part will receive a free VIP ticket to the preview screening of Kick-Ass at the Tyneside Cinema – if the film is found in time! If it isn’t, self-proclaimed underground auteur Ted Hex will screen his seven-hour metaphysical thriller Bring Me The Head Of Harvey The Rabbit.

HOW TO GET INVOLVED

Players must register in advance by sending an email here.

Players can register in teams of five or as individuals and we’ll team them up with others.

The treasure hunt will start at 7pm on Saturday 27th of March. It will last approx one and a half hours.

Places are strictly limited so register now.

Deadline for sign up: 22nd of March.

NLFF REJECT TAKES REVENGE

Hunters pursuing the NLFF Heist Bunny have been invited to meet with the thief at Grey’s Monument in Newcastle on Monday 15th of March at 18.00.

Hunters spent the week following a trail of clues left on a memory stick at the scene of the crime and discovered the Facebook page of the mysterious Ted Hex, a self proclaimed underground auteur whose seven-hour feature film Bring Me The Head Of Harvey The Rabbit had been rejected from NLFF five years in a row. It seems that a final rejection from festival organisers last month provoked the filmmaker to take his drastic action.

Whether Hex will return the stolen film when he meets the public at Grey’s Monument remains to be seen but we urge you to come along if you can.
